Anthony’s Opening Diatribe- Growing More Confident in an Eagles Win
See why Anthony is feeling more confident in an Eagles win from his Opening Diatribe this morning…
“I was doing a lot of National stuff yesterday, talking about the Birds. I am getting the same kind of response, which is are the Eagles for real? They were asking about what is the mood in the city. And I said come Saturday night, it is going to be rabid. Because this is what we do in Philadelphia. January NFL Playoffs are basically a yearly occurrence in this town. Sans for a couple of seasons over the last 25 years, this is a town that understands January football. And you look at this team, and as the game gets closer I grow more confident.
Instead of the other way where you start to get a little nervous, and a little worried. I keep going back to this. I keep going back to Daniel Jones and the Giants’ offense and how good they looked vs Minnesota. And I think it distorts the whole picture. It distorts the vision of how good the Giants’ offense is. At the suggestion of my cousin, I went back and watched the 48-22 game. In that game, they got to Daniel Jones. The Eagles front harassed Daniel Jones. Their offense went down the field, and in the blink of an eye, it was 21 to nothing. They couldn’t come back. The game was out of hand. And you saw it was garbage time when they were scoring to make it 22.
I don’t see why they should lose this game. Now I don’t think they will win 48-22. And they may not be up 21-0 in the 2nd quarter like they were in December. But I have to tell you, I don’t see it. Daniel Jones is still the same QB. Just because he played well again that Vikings, doesn’t mean he has transformed into Eli Manning.”
