James Palmer Talks Eagles Mentality Heading Into The Giants Game
Will Jalen Hurts be good to go on Sunday? What does having him back to for the morale of the offense? What is the Eagles’ mentality heading into this game? James Palmer from the NFL Network joined “The Best Show Ever?” to discuss all that and more. Here is some of what James Palmer had to say.
On The Eagles’ Mindset Heading Into Sunday’s Game
“I can tell that one message has been driven into them. Not that they have over the last couple of weeks blown opportunities to lock up this number 1 seed. He has changed their thinking into going we are going into the last week with the chance to be the number 1 team in the NFC. What an opportunity. What a spin job by Nick Sirianni to have that mindset. But that is what they are preaching heading into this game on Sunday.”
On How Healthy Jalen Hurts Is Going Into This Game
“From talking to guys in the locker room today, I think he might be a little healthier than everyone is leading on. I know Nick has said they want to see the rehab. But when you talk to all the guys around him, there is no way they would put him out in this game if it wasn’t in a position where is it not in a position where it is not going to be reinjured. Or where he couldn’t protect himself. Obviously, you want the number 1 seed. But also if you are reinjuring Jalen Hurts and going with Gardner Minshew in the playoffs, then your chances no matter what your seed is are not good.
Do I think they call the game a little differently? Yea of course. And they would be smart to do that. But I do think he is a little bit healthier than we all think. And that is just my opinion from guys around him who have been watching him the last couple of weeks.”
On the Impact Hurts Has In The Huddle
“There is just a different feel when (Hurts) is playing, compared to when he is not playing. Dallas Goedert said it to me best, you just look into his eyes, and there is no thought that he will not succeed. And that spreads throughout the whole offensive huddle. That is what has been kind of missing the last couple of weeks. This locker room is different in the way that it operates.”
