Bill Belichick Resigns As Jets Coach
On this day in 2000, Bill Belichick resigned as the Jets’ head coach, after only being with the team for a single day. he cited uncertainties with the ownership as the reason for his choice. And clearly, it was the right choice, as he would later go to the Patriots and win many Super Bowls. And Andrew pulled his press conference where he announced the decision to play for us today.
Michael Jordan Scores his 30,000th point
On this day in 2002, Michael Jordan became the 4th player to score 30,000 points in the NBA. He did it with the Wizards at the foul line. And Andrew pulled that moment out of the Audio Vault to play for us today.
The Passing of Stuart Scott
On this day in 2015, we sadly lost Stuart Scott. Scott was a mainstay on ESPN and Sportscenter for a long time. And he also played a big part in the ESPN This Is Sportscenter ads. So in honor of Stuart Scott, Andrew played one of those ads, featuring him, Kenny Mayne, and Kobe Bryant.
