The Philadelphia Flyers finally won in overtime for the first time last night 4-3 against the San Jose Sharks. Following the news that Carter Hart would be on the IR due to an upper body injury; Samuel Ersson was in net for the orange and black.

The Sharks took a 1-0 lead in the first, but quickly after Konecny ties the game at 1. The Sharks continued tom get pucks in the back of the Flyers’ net giving them a 3-1. Philadelphia fought back and in overtime none other than Tony DeAngelo was able to give the Flyers their first overtime win.

This season the Flyers were 0-6 in overtime and struggled greatly entering the third period with the lead. The Sharks are not a good hockey team, but it puts the Flyers in the right direction heading forward with this west coast road trip. The Flyers end the 2022 year out with the Kings tomorrow and the Ducks Monday January 2nd.

The rest of this road trip shouldn’t be “challenging” which makes it a good opportunity for the Flyers to gain the confidence they need to come back to Philly and redeem themselves against the Arizona Coyotes. It is still up in the air if Carter Hart will be eligible to play tomorrow
