Jeff McLane Joins Anthony To Discuss the Jalen Hurts Injury
We got some tough news yesterday that Jalen Hurts has suffered a sprained shoulder. What does that mean for the rest of his season? How long will he be out? To get that information, Anthony Gargano talked to Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer. They discussed the injury, when he could be back, and more. Here is what Jeff McLane had to say.
On Jalen Hurts Injury
“They have probably dodged a bullet. it doesn’t sound season-ending. At least that is what we are being told. It is going to be something they have to juggle here… I was told he is probably out for 2 weeks. Now that estimation may be based on how the Eagles see this playing out. Based on the analytics they have a 99% chance of getting that one seed. A lot would have to happen for them to not get that first-round bye. And I’m sure they are looking at that and saying we don’t need to press this…
I don’t think there is any chance he plays against the Cowboys. And if they win it means he is not going to play for the rest of the regular season. They would have a first-round bye. And that means he doesn’t play until Jan 21st, the divisional round of the playoffs. Which is a little over a month after he suffered the injury. Taht would be how I think things will play out.”
On If They Are Exposing Jalen Hurts to Too Many Hits
“It is absolutely a fair question. Jalen’s ability to run has made this one of the best offenses in the NFL. He is integral to the success of this team. But, you can also say that under the circumstances maybe they should have dialed it back a little bit. Both can be true. We can look at this with some nuance here.”
