Audio Vault- LSD no hitter

See what Andrew Salciunas found down in the Audio Vault today. It was quite the eclectic vault. There was a birthday for an actor from Rocky, a song that dropped on this day, the creation of LSD, the end of an NFL strike, and more. Here is the lineup from today's Audio Vault.

Simply Having A Wonderful Christmas Time Released

On this day in 1979, Paul McCartney released "Simply Having a Wonderful Christmas Time". It's one of the many Christmas songs that will be played on repeat on the radio at this time of the year. So Andrew pulled the song out of the Audio Vault and played a bit of it for us today.

The NFL Strike Ends In 1982

On this day in 1982, the NFL Strike ended. The strike lasted for 8 weeks and forced the season to be shortened to 9 games. But the two sides eventually came to an agreement, and they were able to start the season back up on this day. And Andrew pulled audio of Dolphins coach Don Shula discussing the end of the strike and getting his players ready to start the season, down in the Audio Vault today.

Happy Birthday Burgess Meredith

He is unfortunately no longer with us, but today would have been the birthday of Burgess Meredith. Burgess famously betrayed the gravely voiced trainer Mickey Goldmill in the Rocky movies. And Andrew pulled one of his iconic scenes from Rocky out of the Audio Vault to play for us today.

LSD Synthesized on This Day

On this day in 1936, LSD, also known as the drug Acid, was first synthesized. So Andrew pulled audio from one of the more interesting sports stories. In 1970, Dock Ellis threw a no-hitter, while high on the drug. And Andrew found audio of Dock Ellis talking about that experience, and throwing the no-hitter high on LSD, and played it for us today.

Harry Potter And The Sorcerers Stone Releases in Theaters

On this day in 2001, the first Harry Potter movie was released in theaters. So Andrew pulled a scene from that move out of the Vault to play for us today.
