The Best Show Ever?

2pm - 6pm

PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA - SEPTEMBER 19: Marcus Epps #22 and C.J. Gardner-Johnson #23 celebrate an interception by Darius Slay #2 of the Philadelphia Eagles during the third quarter against the Minnesota Vikings at Lincoln Financial Field on September 19, 2022 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The Eagles are still undefeated. And to discuss them, Dave Zangaro joined “The Best Show Ever?”. Could they go undefeated the whole way? What are the chances they take the top seed? And how good has this secondary been? Dave Zangaro discusses that and more. See what he had to say below.

On the chances, the Eagles get the top seed in the NFC

“They are in the driver’s seat for that bye, and it is a huge deal. We remember what it meant for this team back in 2017. And now that there is only one of those it is an even bigger deal. You look at the schedule, and it does get tougher down the stretch. They will play some better teams… But, it is still right there for them. They are going to be favored in just about every game the rest of the way as long as they keep playing the way they are. I don’t know how realistic it is to talk about them going undefeated, but it isn’t complete out of the realm of possibility. And as long as they take care of business, they have a chance to get the number 1 seed.”

On the Eagles’ Secondary

“They are very very good. And it really starts with the two outside corners. Darius Slay and James Bradberry are as good as it gets. They both have 3 interceptions. Slay could have had a couple more. They are just playing at such a high level. Slay is into his 30’s and still playing at an All-Pro level. And Bradberry has been so impressive. We knew he had that level of play in him. He just didn’t live up to it last year. But he has been excellent this year.

And then you start adding in CJ Gardner Johnson and all his interceptions… He is coming up with the Football. And he is making these great grabs. How many of these grabs were they making in the last couple of years? It has been really impressive to watch. Together, those 5 players represent such a good unit on this defense. And it allows Jonathan Gannon to really do a lot more in terms of his playcalling.”
