Today she discussed a hype video for upcoming free agent Trae Turner, a man who ate 40 rotisserie chickens, and a small Oklahoma town who made a large statue to honor 'A Christmas Story.' Here are her stories from today.
John Hamm Narrates Trae Turner Hype Video
Trae Turner is one of the biggest names on the free agent market this offseason. He is arguably the best SS out there and has a pre-existing relationship with Bryce Harper. But if the Phillies want to bring him in, there will be some competition. Especially after he released a hype video of himself, narrated by Jon Hamm. Turner likely did not need a hype video to get people interested. He is coming off a fantastic year, and would have gotten a big payday regardless.
Oklahoma Town Honors A Christmas Story With Giant Leg Lamp Statue
There are a lot of iconic things from A Christmas Story. The Red Ryder Bebe gun with which to shoot one's eye out. The scene with the kid licking a lamp pole and getting his tongue stuck inspired many copycats. But there is also the iconic leg lamp. And now it will live on forever with one OK town erecting a 50 ft recreation of it. Chickasha, OK had put up a giant blow-up version of the lamp in prior years, but now the permanent statue will stand in its place to forever honor the movie.
Man Eats Entire Rotisserie Chicken 40 Days in a Row
Alexander Tominsky has eaten a lot of rotisserie chickens in the past 40 days. 40 to be exact. 40 straight days of eating an entire one. And it got to the point where he was drawing a large crowd to see him scarf down the chicken. Jen shared the story in today's What's Brewing, but the reaction from the rest of the BSE crew was not impressed. They asked why it was even impressive, given that a rotisserie chicken is not that much meat to eat in one sitting. And they also questioned why it was drawing the crowds it was.
