The Flyers have started the season 4-2, despite the low expectations. Most people are happy with that. Just not their new head coach. See what John Tortorella had to say about his team when he joined "The Best Show Ever?" earlier today...

On Not Being Happy With How His Team Plays in Back-to-Backs

I think we have a little bit of learning to do as far as how to play back-to-backs. I know we were a little tired. We just need to simplify things. I just don't think we gave ourselves a chance. We are not a good enough team to overcome us giving the other team freebies. They were on their last game of a long trip, they were a tired team also. So I just don't think we handled ourselves well at all.

On Not playing Kevin Hayes and Travis Konecny at the End of a Game

Everyone wants to call it a benching. I thought they were struggling. Some turnovers cost us a couple of goals. I just decided to shorten our bench, and they were out of the mix. And actually, I thought we played a really good 3rd period when we changed the lines and shortened it. So I just went with that. I felt we had some good energy, and I stayed with it.

On Carter Hart

"I think he has played very well. Obviously it is a very important part of us trying to build this team. We have so many young players in the lineup. So we are going to make mistakes, and mistakes can't go into our net that often. We are 4-2, and some of that falls on his shoulders. He has given us a way to stay in games until we find a way to score goals. Carter has been the main guy for us. I think he was thrust into the NHL too early, at too young an age. This is an important year for him in just being a stabilizer. Because we are going to make mistakes. I am real happy with how he has started. The mental aspect of the game is the one that a young goalie needs to work on, and I think he has handled himself well."
