Best Phillies comebacks

DENVER – OCTOBER 12: Matt Stairs #12 of the Philadelphia Phillies congratulates teammate Ryan Howard #6 after Howard scored the go ahead run against the Colorado Rockies in the top of the ninth inning giving the Phillies a 5-4 lead in Game Four of the NLDS during the 2009 MLB Playoffs at Coors Field on October 12, 2009 in Denver, Colorado.

The Phillies need to bounce back after they dropped game 2 in San Diego. On Tuesday they had a great 2-0 win that felt like it would set the tone for the series. But game 2 did not go their way. They let the Padres erase a 4-0 deficit with Aaron Nola on the mound. A very ugly 5th inning dug a hole for the Phillies they could not dig out of. So instead of coming back home up 2-0, they came back to Philly with the series tied, to play 3 games at Citizen's Bank Park. Comebacks like that can carry a team through a series. So the Phillies really need to reset the series with some wins at home.

And while they do not necessarily need a comeback, they do need a bounce back from that ugly game. That starts today with Game 3. Ranger Suarez vs the Padres Ace Joe Musgrove. They have 3 home games, and only need 3 more wins to advance to the World Series. And they get to send Zack Wheeler to the mound on Sunday.

So for today's Audio Vault, Andrew Salciunas dug up some of the best comebacks in Phillies. The times when the Phillies had their backs against the wall and came through. Comebacks like Ryan Howard's "Get me to the plate boys," moment in game 4 of the 2009 NLDS vs the Rockies. Andrew gathered the best examples, to play for us today in The Audio Vault.

Here is what it sounded like when Andrew played those Phillies comeback wins in today's Audio Vault...
