GLENDALE, ARIZONA - OCTOBER 09: Quarterback Jalen Hurts #1 of the Philadelphia Eagles looks to pass during the NFL game at State Farm Stadium on October 09, 2022 in Glendale, Arizona. The Eagles defeated the Cardinals 20-17.

It is Dallas week! The Eagles face the Cowboys on Sunday Night Football, at home, this weekend. And to preview the game, Anthony Gargano talked to Zach Berman from The Athletic. What will Jalen Hurts face against this Cowboys Defense? What is the best way to attack the Cowboys’ offense? Anthony and Zach talked about all that and more. See what Zach Berman had to say below…

On How the Eagles Should Attack the Dallas Defense

The way the Eagles are going to neutralize that Cowboys pass rush is with their running game, and with their mobile QB. They haven’t really played a mobile Qb other than Daniel Jones. And Jones had 9 carries for 70-plus yards. And when you look at what the Cowboys on the defensive line, in terms of stunts, those are much harder to do when you are accounting for a mobile QB or the RPOs. Those affect what Dallas does… I think the way the Eagles neutralize it is that there are not a lot of dropbacks in this game. its more RPOs, getting Jalen on the move and running.

On How to Attack the Cowboys’ Offense

This is a big Jordan Davis game. The reason why he is here right now is to be a dominant run-down player. You are going to see that 5 man front on early downs. They are going to try to get the Cowboys into 3rd and long. The Cowboys are one of the worst 3rd down teams in the NFL this year, because for the past 4 games they haven’t had a Qb you trust to beat them with his arm. That is going to be the game plan. Load up. Get the Cowboys into 3rd down. And then trust your pass rush, trust your secondary, trust an inexperienced Qb, when you get into those 3rd downs.
