MIAMI, FL - JULY 3: Bench coach Larry Bowa #10 of the Philadelphia Phillies gets ready for batting practice prior to the start of the game against the Miami Marlins at Marlins Park on July 3, 2014 in Miami, Florida.

There is playoff baseball in Philly today. They split the series with the Braves 1-1, and now get two home games with a chance to advance to the NLCS. And to get the scoop on what to expect in these next 2-3 games, Anthony Gargano brought on the great larry Bowa. What does Larry Bowa think about their chances? Will Spencer Strider create issues for the Phillies today? See what Larry Bowa had to say

On Facing Spencer Strider Today…

“Yea, he is not going to go very deep. He hasn’t pitched in a while. And I am sure they are going to make this a bullpen game. They are going to hope they can come out on top. And then have Morton go tomorrow, and then have their big guy if it goes back to Atlanta. But I don’t think it will. When I watched him pitch he had great command. but I don’t expect that today. He hasn’t pitched in a while. So the key is can he throw quality strikes after being out that long? If he goes two innings I think the Braves will be happy. I don’t see him going more than 2. But they are rolling the dice here… I see us winning both of these games.”

On If the Phillies Bats Can Wake Up Today

“I know the last game we didn’t hit. Although I will say this, we hit the ball hard, they just didn’t go very far. It was a little cooler in Atlanta. If they square these same balls up today, because it’s nice outside, they are going to go out. And Harp looks like he is locked back in. We have to get Schwarber and Hoskins locked back in. One of the two, we don’t need both of them. One of the two guys needs to swing the bat the way we know they are capable of. If that happens, it is going to be an exciting day.”
