And now they are coming back to Philly where if the Phillies can win two home games they can win the series. The Phillies took Game 1 after their hitters jumped on Max Fried to take a 7-1 lead. But they fell to the Braves in Game 2 despite a strong performance from Zack Wheeler. And to preview the rest of the series, "The Best Show Ever?" talked to Scott Lauber of the Philadelphia Inquirer.
One of the things they talked about was Bryce Harper's bat waking up. He may be the Phillies' hottest hitter in the playoffs. He hit a double last night, hit an HR in game 2 against the Cardinals, and had multiple hits in game 1 of the NLDS. Harper had been in a major slump just before the playoffs. Ever since he came off the IL his power numbers were down, and strikeouts were way up. But he is finally starting to hit again, and even some of the outs are hit hard. And Scott Lauber discussed his turnaround when on with us today.
Scott Lauber also discussed the top of the Phillies lineup. Kyle Schwarber and Rhys Hoskins have struggled badly. The two of them are hitting a combined 1-34. And following last night's loss, there was some talk among Phillies fans if they could be moved down the lineup. But Scott Lauber said that is not something Rob Thomson is considering.
Scott Lauber also discussed Nick Castellanos starting to get some hits, some about the pitching matchups, and more. You can hear everything Scott had to say to us below...
