What did Andrew Salciunas find in the Vault today? Today Andrew played some great moments from the Eagles-Cowboys rivalry, the debut of Magic Johnson, and more. Here is the lineup from today's Vault.

Randall Cunnigham Fakes  Kneel Down And Tacks on Against the Cowboys

The Eagles-Cowboys Rivalry was perhaps never quite as fierce as it was under Buddy Ryan. Buddy fanned the flames of that hate more than anyone. And one of the most heated moments was when Buddy Ryan ran up the score against the Cowboys. The Eagles had the game won and could have knelt down to run out the clock. But instead, Buddy called for a fake Kneel down. The Eagles drew a pass interference call to get the ball down to the 1-yard line. And then they scored one final TD. Buddy wanted to run up the score in response to the scab game earlier in the year where the Cowboys players crossed the picket line, while the Eagles players were all striking, and ran up the score. So Buddy got his revenge by running up the score against the Cowboys starters.

Happy Birthday Leon Lett

It is Leon Lett's Birthday. And of course, Lett may be best known for one of the worst blunders in NFL history. Leon scooped up a Fumble, and was about to score, but slowed down, and a Bills player caught him from behind and knocked the ball out of their hands. The Ball went out the back of the End Zone, and it was a touchback for the Bills. It went from 7pts for the Cowboys, to the Bills getting the ball back.

Speeches From the Phillies Parade in 1980

It is the anniversary of the Phillies beating the Astros to advance to the World Series. And Andrew went deep into the Vault to find some audio from the Phillies parade that year. He found the speeches from Larry Bowa, and then from Tug McGraw, who seemed to be having a very good time, and gave a great speech where he told New York where they could stick it.

Magic Johnson's Debut

On this day in 1979, Magic Johnson made his NBA Debut with the Lakers. He scored 28 pts against the Clippers. And of course, he went on to become one of the best Point Guards in NBA history. To honor the date, Andrew gathered some of the best moments from his first game to play in The Vault today.

Andrew Salciunas, “The Choonis,” has done it all at the station - screening calls, working events as a member of the street team, producing 7 days a week, doing updates, and now hosting his own show. Now with a wife and kid, his life experiences are far different than when he first started, but this “regular guy” knows how to relate to anyone. He writes about the Flyers, Phillies, Sixers, and Eagles.
