See what was brewing with Jen Scordo today! Every day Jen shares 3 recent weird and interesting news stories. Today she discussed a coach who quit when he couldn't handle the harassment from parents, Kim Kardashian getting booed by Rams fans, and the Elf on a Shelf getting its own cereal. Here are today's stories.
Kellog's Releases Elf on the Shelf Cereal in Walmart
Kellogg's is teaming up with Walmart for a special edition Elf on the Shelf cereal. The cereal, based on the titular, and in my opinion, creepy character will consist of frosted cereal pieces and mini marshmallows. But the twist is that slow-release ingredient, which they claim makes it taste “like you just took a bite out of a freshly made snowball.” The cereal is only available in Walmart, and only for a limited time. So you can soon have a box with a creepy-looking elf on it, and you can soon eat cereal that tastes like snow.
Rams Fans Boo Kim Kardashian
Rams fans are not having a good time this year. The defending champions are 2-3 after losing to the Cowboys. The offense looked nowhere near as dynamic as they were last year. The offensive line is struggling badly. And Matthew Stafford has a turnover problem. So when Kim Kardashian was shown on screen at SoFi Stadium, fans did not hold back. She was heavily booed by the local Los Angeles fans. Being one of the most famous people in the country has its drawbacks. And one of those drawbacks is that the more people who know you, the more people that hate you.
The story led to a debate on the show of whether she deserved the boos, and if she has actually accomplished anything noteworthy to have gotten cheers instead. Tyrone and Ricky were on the side that she hasn't accomplished much herself and is famous just for being famous, But Jen and Hunter thought otherwise.
Cardinal Spellman Football Coach Quits Due to Harassment From Parents
If you are a celebrity like Kim Kardashian, you may be used to getting harassed by people. But if you are a high school football coach, it may be too much to handle. That is what happened to the coach of Cardinal Spellman. Kahn Chace quit his job as head coach, after the way the parents of his players treated him became too much to handle. he said the breaking point was when he could no longer bring his own family to games because the vitriol was too over the top.
"The joy of coaching kind of gets ripped away from you. It's just general vulgar behavior. It's just nonstop whether it's the plays stink, I don't have the team ready, they're just yelling at us. Last year we had a guy follow our assistant coaches out of the booth."- Chace told CBS Boston.
Parents taking their kid's high school sports too seriously is nothing new. But when it gets so bad a coach literally quits, you know it has gone too far.
