The Super Bowl was incredible but as evidence of the “hangover” year following the trophy, the team started aging and getting injured on a more frequent basis. The outcome quickly became clear and an aging roster was a big problem with it. Howie Roseman and Jeffrey Lurie quickly shifted to a controlled rebuild. And right now the Eagles are the 5th youngest roster in the league. The Jaguars who are in town this weekend come in at the leagues second youngest team. Here’s the 5 youngest teams in the league…

According to Spotrac, “the Browns have the NFL’s youngest roster at 25.30, followed by the Lions (25.42), Jaguars (25.57), Cowboys and Giants (25.58) and Eagles. So three of the six-youngest teams in the league are in the NFC East.” Outside of the Cowboys and the Eagles, these are all bad teams or rebuilding teams. Which swings the pendulum in a huge favor of the Eagles being this young and this good already. It’s a young division and the Eagles look to be in the best place within the division although I don’t think the Cowboys are necessarily “dead” by any means.

Let’s look at the age of some of the most of the core members of the Eagles under the age of 28. (S/O this guy for doing the heavy lifting here (added some more to it) … (https://twitter.com/Ic3yHurts/status/1574406384141172736?s=20&t=Y2Ic5O1DvTu_sXO5K0vo5g )

The youth outweighs the vets in this exercise which is an extreme positive for the Birds. As always, go Birds.
