The Eagles 3-0 start has us all dreaming of a spectacular season. The start has been eye opening, especially with its impactful defensive showing. I can’t be a hypocrite though, I’m the guy always urging people to get a larger sample size before making grand judgments. Here are the ten reasons I do believe that I can trust what my eyes are showing me through the start of the 2022 campaign.
Top 10 Reasons that this 3-0 Eagles start means more than other seasons…
10)The Commanders are completely in the toilet and Wentz isn’t the answer behind a shaky offensive line. The rematch is on Monday Night Football back here in Philadelphia in November. That could be “Body Bag Game 2”
9)The Eagles offense AND defense are both ranked in the Top 7. It’s a balance that they didn’t have last season and quite early, but a huge jump from last year.
8)Jalen Hurts had taken the next level jump in the early going. His deep ball, clearly improved along with the weaponry at his disposal. Hurts is running less and throwing with authority.
7)Shane Steichen has already displayed the ability to call a beautiful game and his talent obviously is embracing an unselfish mentality. It’s great to see a running game and passing game used to keep the defense out of a comfort zone.
6)Jonathan Gannon has given his critics the ultimate virtual middle finger. He has called two fantastic games in a row and he is rotating his depth to great adventure.
5)The Packers, Buccaneers, Rams and Vikings who are the top NFC contenders have already all taken a loss, 3 of them with a conference loss.
4)You don’t actually believe in the Giants as a threat, do you? It’s clear that they are off to a better start, but the talent differential is absurd headlined by Daniel Jones.
3)The Eagles appear more poised than their years indicate. They have reacted well to any level of adversity. When a poor play threatens a momentum swing, this team has answered the bell.
2)Nick Sirianni has gotten more honest and less Ted Lasso. His positivity is definitely an admirable trait. A better trait is an objective analysis of what is happening and the Coach has learned it’s ok to be critical when warranted. He’s gone from cheerleader to leader publicly.
1)The Eagles have the easiest schedule remaining in the NFL. By October it won’t be unrealistic to dream of multiple home playoff games if you keep it rolling.
