The Body Bag Game
With the Eagles playing the Commanders on Sunday, Andrew pulled the audio from one of the greatest games between these two franchises. The Body Bag Game. It's titled as such because before the game Bubby Ryan boasted they would beat them so bad "they'll have to be carted off in body bags". And it wasn't inaccurate, with 9 Washington players leaving the game with injuries. So Andrew grabbed some audio from the game to get us ready before this Sunday's game.
Monday Night Massacre
Another iconic game between the two teams is the one that went on to be known as the Monday Night Massacre. It was a game that was over before it started. The Eagles led 28-0 before the end of the first quarter. By the end of the game, it was 59-28. And it all started when Vick found Desean Jackson for an 88-yard bomb in the first play of the game.
"I'm a Man, I'm 40"
One of the greatest Head Coach rants of all time came courtesy of Mike Gundy. Gundy went off on a group of reporters when he wasn't happy about the way they were covering his players. It birthed multiple sound drops we use all the time at this station. Drops like "That's not True," "Get Your Facts Straight," and perhaps his best one "I'm a Man, I'm 40". Yesterday was the anniversary of the rant. So Andrew pulled the audio from it.
More Great Football Rants
Andrew figured while we were remembering Gundy's rant, it made sense to also grab the audio from other great coach rants. And among the best was Herm Edwards' perplexed "You Play to win the game," rant. He also grabbed Jim Mora's "We couldn't do diddly poo" rant. And finally, he grabbed one from QB Derek Anderson, who did not take too kindly to reporters calling him out for laughing while his team was being blown out.
