With the Eagles playing the Vikings tonight on Monday Night Football, what better time to revisit the NFC Championship game? Andrew pulled those great memories from The Audio Vault to play for us today. Here is the lineup of what he played from The Vault today.
Joe Buck Introducing the Game
What better way to start the Audio Vault than with how the game started? Andrew found the audio from how Joe Buck opened and previewed the game.
Patrick Robinson Saves The Day
The Eagles were down 7-0. The Vikings were driving. It was looking like it could turn into a blowout the other way. But then Patrick Robinson happened. The Eagles slot corner picked off Case Keenum and took it to the house. it set a tone that led the Eagles to the 38-7 victory.
Blount makes it 14-7
The Eagle’s first TD on offense came on the ground. And it came from LaGarrette Blount who ran over Andrew Sendejo for a 12-yard Touchdown. Blount was key to the run to the Super Bowl. And this was just one more example of that
Derek Barnett Forces a Fumble
Barnett is not a popular name IN Philly. He is widely regarded as a draft bust. Barnett is more known for making dumb plays, than big plays. But he came up big in this game forcing a fumble. He of course later recovered the Tom Brady fumble in the Super Bowl. As disappointing as he has been, the start of his Eagles career was full of big moments.
Alshon Jeffrey Finds the End Zone
Alshon Jeffrey is another name that Eagles fans no longer really love. But man he was good that Super Bowl year. The following few years were a bit of a disaster, but he should forever be appreciated by fans for what he did on the road to The Eagles Super Bowl. He scored an impressive TD in that NFC Championship game that continued the Eagles pile-on vs the Vikings.
Flea Flicker Surprise
Every Eagles fan remembers this impressive play. They pulled out the old flea flicker, and then Foles launched it down the field to Torrey Smith for a TD. Foles was unbelievable in this game, and then in the Super Bowl.
The End of The Game
Eagles fans had waited so long for this, and you could hear it from the crowd at the end of the game as they interviewed Nick Foles on the field. It’s a feeling we have been chasing every year since. And hopefully, tonight’s game vs the Vikings leads to us getting to feel it again.
