Luckily Bo Wulf of The Athletic joined "The Best Show Ever?" to answer a few of them. He discussed the performance in the Lions game, the usage of Jalen Hurts, and if the Eagles can win with Jalen Hurts running as much as he did in week 1.
On The Eagles Performance vs The Lions
"Some of the slow starts, in terms of execution, you could point a line from not doing a ton of work in the offseason to that. On offense, based on metrics it was the 2nd best offensive performance, so not a ton to complain about there. And on defense, the Lions had the 3rd best, so there is something to complain about. I think if you are of the perspective that it's time to be patient, you would say there are a lot of moving parts and new pieces. And if you are of the other opinion, they gave up a ton of rushing yards. and there didn't seem like there was a cohesive plan. And against a Lions offense that was 29th in the league last year you give up 35 points, I think that there is a lot to complain about."
On the usage of Jordan Davis
"I know that there is a lot of focus on Jordan Davis, but there is a reason to be patient. It's his first NFL game. They probably want to see what it is he can do... I don't think there is a lot to complain about with his usage. I worry more about if they worried more about getting these looks in, as opposed to what is the best look at that given time. As opposed to saying Jordan Davis is having a really good game, let's keep him in the game. But Jordan Davis's usage, in week 1, does not concern me."
On If The Eagles Can Win With Jalen Hurts Running This Much
"It is a pretty easy schedule If Jalen Hurts plays like this, they have a real chance to be the number one seed. And if you get a bye, can you play like this and win two games at home? Yea. But If he plays like this vs a defense like you saw in the playoffs last year, that's not great... I think what you saw was the impact that a true star Wr can have on the offense. It opens things up for Hurts... I worry a little bit about the hits, but he is actually good at protecting himself for the most part. The amount of times that they have designed run is a little bit on my radar. But if Hurts plays like he played in week 1, there is absolutely a ceiling for a deep playoff run in the playoffs.
