This Sunday the Eagles finally take the field for a meaningful football game for the first time since January. The Eagles will take on the Lions and the man calling the game, Mark Schlereth, joined the John Kincade Show to give his insight as to how he sees the Eagles before week 1. The Eagles made a big move after final cut down by acquiring CJ Gardner-Johnson. Schlereth loves the move for the Eagles.

“You look at the way they have constructed this, and then, I’ll tell you this, the last couple of years I’ve gone and done several of Saints games, CJ Gardner-Johnson is one of my favorite players. I think he’s a phenomenal young player… His ability to play in the box, to play the run, to be that guy who can stop that and still have unbelievable coverage skills, unbelievable blitz skills, that dude is a great football player.”

But being a former offensive linemen the guys got his insight as to how he would use the offensive line going into the game.

“They are uniquely built. They can maul you, they’ve got size, they’ve got strength, but they can get to the edge too…  The fact that you have a Jason Kelce, who is a phenomenal player inside who can get outside and run at 34 [years old]… I would run the crap out of the ball and open up my play action stuff.”
