The Eagles season kicks off with Game 1 vs the Lions this Sunday. And to get an idea of what we might see, we brought Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia on to break down the game. What can we expect from Hurts? Is there pressure on Jonathan Gannon? Dave discussed that and more with "The Best Show Ever?" and you can see what he had to say below.

On What to Want to See From Jalen Hurts in Game 1

"What you want to see from him is smart decision-making. You want to see him run the offense efficiently. I don't think there is some number threshold he has to hit to make you feel good. I think the offense has to have a nice blend to it. And I think he can do that. We have to remember it's a long season, there are going to be ups and downs for him. We all sort of agree he is going to improve. The question is how much, and how quickly. This is his season to really show what he can be."

On What To Look for With Jonathan Gannon's Defense

"What they did this offseason, is they really took away any built-in excuses for the defensive coordinator. At the end of the season, no one is going to say he didn't have the piece to run what he wants to run. There were moments last year where you say you understand his philosophy against these great QBS. My big qualm with it was he didn't change it. If you're getting beat, change it. Try something else. I felt like he was a little stubborn...A lot of it is going to be on Gannon. he has the pieces now. This defense, at least on paper, looks pretty good."

His Prediction For the Game

"I picked the Eagles 27-10. Look I like the Lions. if you watched Hard Knocks, they are hard not to root for. They play hard, but they played hard last year. I don't know if the roster is significantly better. They have added some good pieces. I don't think it's going to be enough. Maybe they hang around a little bit. But I think the Eagles probably take care of them quite easily."
