Another Eagles season dawns this Sunday and last year we were all wondering if they would turn around a (4-11-1) team into a respectable operation. Total disclosure here? I was a doubter. I thought the coach was a bit of an unproven reach, the QB was a giant question mark and the defense was going to be shaky as hell. Though a few of those things appear to have some modicum of truth, I couldn’t have been more off base in the final conclusion. On my BetParx app last summer I bet the Eagles UNDER 6.5 wins. I couldn’t have been happier that I ended up looking and sounding foolish as they made the playoffs with 9 wins.

So first off, here is this weeks Top 10 List…

The Top 10 Things I expect to see during the 2022 Eagles season

10) Dallas will finish third in the NFC East and be swept by the Eagles in their 2 matchups leading to the firing of Mike McCarthy and the hiring of Sean Payton.

9) The Eagles safety position will continue to be the focus of exploitation by opposing offensive coordinators despite the arrival of CJ Gardner-Johnson.

8) Dallas Goedert will benefit greatly by the addition of AJ Brown and have a monster starting Pro Bowl TE season.

7) At least 50 reactionary sports radio “topics” waffling on whether Jalen Hurts is “the guy”. Meanwhile, I expect Hurts to improve in every statistical category, some more significantly than others. For instance, yardage and passing touchdowns way up. His Completion percentage and rushing touchdowns, more marginal.

6) The Eagles pass rush was not impactful last season, ranking 31st of 32 teams. I don’t see them taking a huge jump but expect them to fall middle of the pack.

5) The Eagles offense will move into the Top 8 of the NFL in scoring averaging over 27 points per game.

4) The Eagles gave up 27.6 points per game at home last season. I expect them to improve that number to below 23 points allowed per game at home this season. That would be a huge difference.

3) The Eagles were (3-5) at home last season. They will be (7-2) at home in 2022. They will be (5-3) on the road.

2) The Eagles will finish (12-5) this season and win the NFC East. The Washington Commanders will be in 2nd place.

1) The Eagles will host and win their first playoff game under Nick Sirianni. They won’t win a second this time around. All around a very positive, exciting 2022 season that leads to another great off-season of anticipation.

Getting right back on the horse is the old adage so I’m going to give it another try. It should concern you considering how wrong I was last season. Who cares, you don’t make any of the shots you don’t take. Here are the bets I’ve placed on my BetParx app for the 2022 Eagles season…

Eagles OVER 9.5 wins

Eagles OVER 10.5 wins

Eagles to win the NFC East
