Labor Day is Upon us. It is one of the best food holidays out there, provided you like barbeque. So 'The Best Show Ever?' marked the occasion with a Fantasy Food Draft. The idea was for them to compete with the callers, with both sides trying to create the best meal possible. A simple concept, at least you would think. Things did not go so simply. You will see what I mean as we reveal the picks from each side. Needless to say, the callers had a hard time grasping the concept. And one caller, in particular, made a very weird choice. To start, here is what the hosts picked in the food draft.

A completely normal, and delicious meal. Something that you could feasibly see being the menu for a night out. The drink menu may be a bit limited, but otherwise there is something for everyone. And they actually took a dessert. Now let's compare that to what the callers did.

Lets just talk about the elephant in the room. Yes someone picked AJ Brown. Why? Who knows? I hope they misunderstood the concept. But perhaps it was Hannibal Lecter on the line with us and he thinks AJ brown would taste good. Unfortunatly no one picked the Chianti to go with him. I would say that none of the callers are allowed to eat their dessert before they eat all of their AJ Brown, but the callers never picked a dessert. So the joke doesn't quite work.
But even beyond that, this menu is a bit of a mess. For one, the loaded up on the sides. Apart from AJ brown, who we will not be eating because that is illegal, 6 of their 11 picks were sides. Many of those sides are very delicious, but it is too many sides. Then only one vegetable. And of all the veggie options they could have, they picked creamed spinach.
And then let's get to the drinks. The first pick for the drinks was whiskey. Great. Not everyone can handle whiskey, but for those who can, its a great pick. But for the no whiskey drinkers what are their options? Water or moonshine. Yes moonshine. That drink that pairs with so many dishes.
To be fair, the Tomohawk Steak, and the Crab, were great picks for entrees, but the rest of the menu lets them down. And everyone who participates is going to jail since they just ate a human being.
