By: Haley Taylor Simon
Jackson Cates the 24 year old Flyers forward signed a one year 2 way contract for $775,000/$120,000 according to General Manager, Chuck Fletcher.
Cates played 11 games this past 2021-2022 season recording one goal against Montreal. He spent his other time this past season with the AHL affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms where Cates put up 10 points in 37 games. Cates’ goals were both shorthanded.

There is a chance Jackson will be spending a majority of his time at Lehigh, but he still makes a good impact on the ice and is a developing forward.
The name Cates might ring a bell as his younger brother, Noah, was the Flyers’ 5th fifth round draft pick in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.
Other RFA’s that the Flyers still could potentially sign are, Wade Allison, Hayden Hodgson, and Linus Hogberg.
