The Eagles' open practice got the city hyped for the upcoming season. With reports of attendance nearing 30,000 it shows the impact this team has on this football based city. Football is the heart of Philadelphia and with the anticipation of the Eagles having all star caliber players; fans were eager to see the Birds in action. Besides the fans getting excited; this was a huge momentum boost for players entering the Lincoln financial field for the first time.
Jalen Hurts got a standing ovation as he had the most eyes on him coming out of the tunnel. Hurts notably has the most pressure on him entering this season, but last night he was able to show off all his hard work he’s been putting in since the end of last season, and have fun with with crowd behind him. Hurts’ night ended with a cheerful happy birthday serenaded to him by the Eagles fans as the 2nd year quarterback turned 24.
One standout from the open practice was the Jalen Hurts and AJ Brown combo. During the offensive vs the defense game, Hurts threw a 30 yard touchdown pass to Brown as he caught it one handed. The celebration between Hurts and Brown ignited the crowd as everyone was on their feet reacting to what felt like a gameday touchdown. This gave a glimpse of what fans are expecting to see take place on the field this year.
With the Eagles' first preseason game taking place this Friday against the Jets; it's show time.
