The Anthony Gargano Show – Weekdays 10am – 2pm

Weekdays 10am-2pm

WASHINGTON, DC - AUGUST 10: Manager Charlie Manuel #41 of the Philadelphia Phillies watches batting practice before the game against the Washington Nationals at Nationals Park on August 10, 2013 in Washington, DC.

Earlier today, Charlie Manuel joined the Anthony Gargano show. He talked to Anthony about the Phillies’ additions at the trade deadline, some of the other moves around the MLB, and more. Here is some of what he had to say…

Charlie Manuel On David Robertson

“His stuff right now is so far ahead of what it was when he pitched here. The breaking ball looks sharper, he had more spin and more depth. His fastball is back. It’s good and it’s moving. He’s having a tremendous season. The stats speak for themselves. He is a different pitcher from what we had. I feel like that was a heck of a deal. He’s definitely going to be a big addition to our team. We’ve got good depth in our bullpen, and a lot of talent. To me that is how you are going to be consistent.”

Charlie Manuel On Brandon Marsh

“I was watching Marsh take BP yesterday. I’ll tell you one thing, he’s definitly not light in the power department. He was hitting balls up on that second tier where Bull’s BBQ used to be. He’s really quick in the outfield. he showed that last night when he cut that one ball off over to his left. If that ball gets by him it’s a run. We watched a lot of film on him. He’s definitely a tremendous outfielder. I think he’s going to hit. Two years ago he was considered a huge prospect. I like everything about him. I think that’s going to turn out to be a really big deal.”
