Many would say this trade deadline has already been a win for the Phillies and its not about who they acquired, its about about they let go of. The Phillies acquired outfielder Brandon Marsh, and reliever David Robertson. In order to complete both moves the Phillies had to make room on their 40 man roster and they did that by designating for assignment two players that most of the fan base was ready to shoot off into the sun.

Odubel Herrera and Jeurys Familia.

Odubel was brought back on a somewhat surprising 1 year deal and he has played typical Odubel Herrera baseball. .238/.279/.657 slash line with 5 home runs and 6 stolen bases. But theres been plenty of plays in center field where it seemed like Odubel was on another planet. One instance literally cost them a game.

But hey, at least the Phillies had SOME positives out of Herrera, which is more than they can say for Familia. Familia signed a 1 year, $6 million dollar deal with the team and has been their worst pitcher out of the bullpen. In 38 appearances this season he is sporting an ERA above 6. The Phillies tried him out in mop up duty recently where they found out that even a 7 run lead isnt safe.

He was also the inspiration for this list

Both can kick rocks on their way to Lehigh Valley. I hope they hit heavy traffic on 76.
