Every Friday on the John Kincade show in the summer, I preview events going on around town this weekend. It’s the final weekend of July and the Eagles are finally in camp and the Phillies are in possession of a wild card spot, but let’s take a look around the area and see what’s happening!
Friday Night is the Midsummer Beer Garden at the Mütter Museum! I have a confession to make, even after being a South Philly resident for nearly a decade, I never have made it to the Mütter even though I’ve wanted to! If I wasn’t away this weekend, I’d be at the Beer Garden tonight and checking out all the weirdness the Mütter has to offer! Tickets are $20 and include museum access and a drink voucher. Concerts tonight: Slightly Stoopid @ the Mann Center / Rob Zombie @ the Freedom Mortgage Pavilion Center / Don MacLean @ the Keswick Theatre in Glenside
Saturday: My hometown of Washington Crossing is doing the “Wine On The Waterfront” event at the Washington Crossing State Park. 11 local vineyards will be pouring wine, there will be gourmet food being served and live jazz. Tickets are $40 but benefit the Friends of the Crossing fund. More information here https://www.washingtoncrossingpark.org/event/wine-on-the-waterfront-2022/
East Passyunk Car Show & Street Festival is happening Saturday. Not far from my old neighborhood, this is one of the better street festivals in town over the summer & I don’t even care for cars like that. A lot of the local bars & restaurants will have food & beverage being served, DJ’s and live music and one of the best walking streets in the city gets shut down for a fun Saturday!
The American Swedish Historical Museum located in FDR Park will be hosting the Smorgasbeer Event with lawn games & local breweries and trivia. Should be a fun day in the park!
Concerts (Saturday): The Black Keys (awesome show) @ the Freedom Mortgage Pavilion
(Sunday): Keith Urban @ the Freedom Mortgage Pavilion
