Its been almost a month since Kevin Durant demanded a trade from the Brooklyn Nets and he is still a member of the Brooklyn Nets. As Brooklyn GM Sean Marks looks for the best return he can get, the latest team to get involved is a division rival of the Sixers; The Boston Celtics. According to ESPN NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski, the Celtics have emerged as one of the teams considering a trade for the former MVP.
ESPN Sources: As Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant’s trade request approaches its fourth week, the Boston Celtics have emerged among teams engaged in talks on a possible deal. Story: https://t.co/eXpn6fRoYl— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) July 25, 2022
The Celtics would send a package centered around Jaylen Brown to Brooklyn to complete a deal. A deal that Wojnarowski says is not imminent and not close. This story is literally a report that the Celtics have thrown their names in a ring. Its a ring that includes other Eastern Conference rivals like the Heat, and the Raptors as well as the Phoenix Suns. The Athletic’s Shams Charania piggy backed off Wojnarowski by reporting that the Celtics offered a package of Jaylen Brown, Derrick White and a pick. The Nets wanted Jaylen Brown, Marcus Smart, and more.
If the Sixers were to get involved for Kevin Durant then Tobias Harris and Tyrese Maxey would have to be included. The Sixers havent been mentioned by anyone other than Sixers fans and sports radio hosts. But that doesnt mean Darryl Morey isnt big game hunting. While with the Rockets he signed big time free agent Dwight Howard, and he swung trades for James Harden and Russell Westbrook. When the “window is open” Darryl Morey goes for it.
