If you’re familiar with the careers of DeadPool & Mac, you’re aware they invested in a small soccer club from Wales a few years back. Their joint company RR McReynolds purchased the club in November 2020. The duo received a 98.6% vote of confidence from the Wrexham Football Club board of trustees. The 65,000 person town that borders on England may be tiny, but they certainly are passionate about their football club. Both Ryan and Rob said the passion of the fans is what ultimately drew them to the town of Wrexham.

Part of why the board gave them a 98.6% vote of confidence is obviously the money brought to the club but also the notoriety and attention the famous duo brought with them. No more example of this than in 2022 when the Wrexham club got added to the FIFA video game under the “rest of the world” section, becoming the first ever “non-league” (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-League_football) team to ever be featured in the series. Needless to say the purchase of the club elevated them to a new level.

And this August, FX Networks and the owners production company are releasing “Welcome to Wrexham”. The show is about the two learning how to run and own the third oldest football club in the world. The show will focus on the rabid fanbase and the passion for their team and their new ownership group. I get really into sports documentaries and I’m a fan of soccer, so this is a no brainer to watch.
