Well this is quite the development. Things are NOT going great in Brooklyn. After severely underperforming during the regular season because of injuries, vaccination issues, trading for a man who is living an endless vacation, the Nets got swept in the first round of the NBA Playoffs. The once thought of “super team” is slowly starting to fracture and one of their stars might be looking to move out of Brooklyn, and into Philly.
Kyrie Irving, the extremely talented but extremely polarizing point guard for the Nets might be interested in coming to the Sixers. This per ESPN NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski. “Woj” tweeted that if Irving cant come to an agreement with Brooklyn, he could look to do a sign and trade and the Sixers are one of the seven teams Irving would be interested in coming to. The other teams are the Lakers, Clippers, Knicks, Heat, and Mavs.
ESPN Sources: If Kyrie Irving can’t reach an agreement to stay with Brooklyn, he has a list of teams he’d like them to consider on sign-and-trades, including Lakers, Clippers, Knicks, Heat, Mavs and 76ers. None of those teams have cap space to sign him without Nets’ help.

Considering the Sixers have no cap space, and already have agreed to bring back James Harden, this feels like a non starter for the Sixers. Harden and Irving reportedly didnt have a great relationship in Brooklyn, but then again talent is talent and Kyrie is absolutely talented. When he is playing he is undoubtedly one of the best players in the NBA. And a “Big 3” of Irving, Harden, and Embiid is certainly steamy…..
You also have to factor in the desperation factor with Daryl Morey. Morey knows the window to win a championship is currently open with Embiid. A championship was something that has eluded Morey in his impressive career. When Morey was in Houston we saw him swing for a championship more than one time, bringing in the likes of Dwight Howard, Chris Paul, and Russell Westbrook. Could Irving be next?
