PHILADELPHIA, PA - AUGUST 07: Alec Bohm #28 of the Philadelphia Phillies gestures after he hit a double against the New York Mets during the fifth inning of a game at Citizens Bank Park on August 7, 2021 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Yesterday I pleaded with the city of Philadelphia to not take Alec Bohm’s “I hate this F$%*ing place” statement too seriously. I am proud to say that some listened. Because when Bohm came up in a pinch hit situation during Tuesday’s loss to the Mets Phillies fans had their first chance to respond to Bohms statement that was caught on camera. And Phillies fans aced it. Giving Bohm a standing ovation and showing him that it was all water under the bridge.

It was noticed. Not just by Bohm but by one of the Phillies newcomers, Nick Castellanos. After the game Castellanos was asked what he thought

“Everything that I’ve been led to believe about Philadelphia, that was the exact opposite. That was incredible.”

Good job Philly
