The Philadelphia Eagles are currently in need of a safety after veteran Rodney McLeod left for the Colts. They brought in Tyrann Mathieu for a visit after the former Pro-Bowler left the Chiefs in the offseason. Mathieu is widely regarded as the best safety left on the open market with many thinking there is still a lot left in the tank. So what is going on with “the Honey Badger”?

ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter joined the John Kincade Show tuesday morning (normally he is Wednesday’s at 8:10) and discussed the state of things with Mathieu

“He has found a very lukewarm market so far,” Schefter told the guys. “He was beloved and well respected in that (Chiefs) locker room. That’s a guy you want on your team everyday of the week.”

Schefter also points out that there are a few solid veterans that are currently on the open market who could sign soon, or teams may be waiting to see how the draft plays out.

Schefter also discussed the upcoming draft and the quarterback movement that we could see among other things. Listen to the full interview below!
