Why Everyone Loves Maxey
By: Haley Taylor
It’s no surprise that the 21 year old guard has taken the city of brotherly love by storm. With Maxey being a key factor to the Sixers’ success in this blockbuster season we can’t help but love him.
Maxey put up twenty one points, seven assists, and five rebounds against the Lakers last night after having a standout game against the Heat dropping twenty eight points. With Harden and Embiid not playing Monday night, the leadership Maxey exemplified was beyond his years, defeating the number one seed.
The Call, or in this case Calls, of the night are courtesy of some "Maximum Effort" by one Tyrese Maxey. 13 pts in the final 6 minutes, and a block to seal the @sixers win. Here is a small collection of some of his late game heroics, as called by @McGinnisThomas . pic.twitter.com/0LfmxUyuTP

Maxey has been averaging over thirty five minutes on the court. With the young star’s energy, hustle, and play making; you can’t keep your eyes off of him. Maxey has gained the respect of his team after taking the advice and mentoring of Embiid and Harden. Clearly, the respect Maxey accumulated has gained him a fan in Embiid.
JOEL EMBIID, HIS BIGGEST FAN. 🥺 pic.twitter.com/tK4PKnzkBo

Maxey off the court is just as remarkable as he is on the hardwood. With Maxey’s humble behavior and always having brightest smile on his face it’s evident that he became a real fan favorite.
