Embiid Questionable For Tonight’s Game vs the Mavericks
By Dylan MacKinnon
For the second straight game, Joel Embiid is listed as questionable with back soreness. So we may not know until just before the game if Embiid will take the court when the Sixers face the Mavs tonight.

He was also listed as questionable on Wednesday night vs the Cavaliers. Embiid ended up playing and scored 35 points, so the back soreness did not seem to bother him too much that night.
We may have to get used to Sixers plays status being unclear ahead of the game. Doc Rivers has stated his intention to get his players rest before the playoffs. Since he is not going to say ahead of time when that will be, we will go into every game wondering if tonight is the night they sit.
The Sixes have a back to back coming up. They play the Raptors Sunday night, and the Heat Monday night. If he was going to sit them just for rest it would presumably make more sense to do so in one of those games. Its one of three back to backs they have left on the schedule. But if the back issue is legit with Embiid, the rest could also come tonight vs a Western Conference team.
On the Mavericks end, Theo Pinson (Finger) and Reggie Bullock (Personal) are listed as out. Marquese Chriss (Knee) is Questionable to play tonight.
