UFC Vegas 50 Betting Guide
A sneaky good card following a PPV is something we usually do not see, but we are getting it this Saturday. The card is headlined by Thiago Santos who is taking on Magomed Ankalaev in what could be a title contender fight at light heavy weight. The rest of the card however is filled with some REALLY good fighters from top to bottom. It should be a fun night of fights.
Here are some specifics. The prelims begin at 4pm with the main card starting at 7pm. Everything can be seen on ESPN+
I will give you my predictions in the order the fights are to take place. All odds are courtesy of Bet MGM. The King of Sports Books! For new users head on over there and use the promocode PatEgan and get your first bet RISK FREE up to $1K
43-34 this year. 14-8 on locks. (it has been a SLOW start in 2022)
In 2021 I hit on 60% of picks. In 2021 I hit on 61% of “locks” (so a lot of people had keys to that lock.)
(7-6 last fight card. 2-2 on locks)

MAIN EVENT TIME
Drew Dober vs. Terrance McKinney
Terrance McKinney is taking this fight on short notice after destroying Fares Ziam LAST WEEK! Hes a fast riser but Drew Dober is damn good. This is actually a really good matchup for McKinney because Dober is prone to get submitted and thats McKinney’s game. And I think I might pick McKinney if he had a normal fight camp, and not 7 days to prepare. But I am picking Dober because McKinney is BIG for 155 pounds. Making that weight cut twice in a week could do damage that Dober can take advantage of. A puncher like Dober hitting a dehydrated McKinney, I think he derails the McKinney train.
Drew Dober
Karl Roberson vs. Khalil Rountree
Both of these guys need a win. Roberson more so than Rountree since Rountree is coming off a win (against a guy who has since been cut.) Im going with MMA math (which is never smart to do.) Roberson’s losses are some big names in the division. Now Light Weight champion Glover Teixeira, former title contender Marvin Vettori, and Brendan Allen. He is going back to 205 but that also means he should be the faster fighter. Im not overly confident in this one so bet at your own risk, but I like Roberson
Karl Roberson
Sodiq Yusuff vs. Alex Caceras
I cant wait to watch Sodiq Yusuff. He is that 5-10 guy at 135, not quite a contender yet but he can put it on you. Alex Caceras is a vet on a nice 5 fight win streak, but none of those fighters are at the caliber that Sodiq Yusuff is. I think Yusuff pieces Caceras up on the feet and it will leave Caceras shooting for his life.

Marlon Moraes vs. Yadong Song
Prospect vs. Vet in this one. But at the end of the day, I think Moraes is unfortunately cooked. He is riding a 3 fight losing streak entering this fight but when you look at the fighters he lost to its not as bad as it might look. Corey Sandhagen, Rob Font, and Merab Dvalishvili. Killers. But he hasn’t looked good in any of those fights. He did have Merab on the ropes for a bit there and it did look good, but eventually he gassed out and got finished. He has been finished in 3 of his last 4 fights. Its amazing to think that at 33 I think hes done, but there’s a lot of tread on the tires. Yadong is the opposite
He is young (24) with tons of experience (25 fights.)He has faced high level competition already but most are up and comers. Every time out he looks better and better and I think around the 2nd or 3rd round he cracks Moraes and drops him and finishes him. Watch out for the leg kicks of Moraes though.

Thiago Santos vs. Magomed Ankalaev
Thiago Santos has not been the same since e faught Jon Jones. He tore up both knees in that fight, a fight he almost won. (full disclosure I thought he won.) Since that Santos has been in lackluster fights with now champion Glover Teixeira and Aleksander Rakic. He did beat Johnny Walker, but that win doesn’t look all that great considering Walker has lost 4 of his last 5 fights. But I dont expect this fight to be boring. because I expect Ankalaev to take Santos to the woodshed.
