The Sixers have found their backup bigman for the playoff run. A deal that many expected is coming together as DeAndre Jordan cleared waivers after being released by the Lakers and is now planning to sign with the Philadelphia 76ers. This per Adrian Wojnarowski and also Shams Charania who let everyone know Jordan officially cleared once 5pm hit.
Barring an unlikely waiver claim before the 5 PM ET deadline today, center DeAndre Jordan is expected to sign with the Philadelphia 76ers, sources tell ESPN. Lakers waived Jordan on Tuesday and Sixers have an open roster spot and desire to add another backup center.— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) March 3, 2022
He is not Andre Drummond, but he is also NOT Willie Cauley-Stein. Jordan spent the majority of his career playing for Doc Rivers so there is hope that Rivers can suck the last ounce of productivity from Jordan’s career. Jordan will now team up with Paul Millsap, and the Niang Gang for the NBA’s “BIG 3” of second units
(the last sentence was a joke and should be taken as such.)
