The Mike Missanelli show got a big guest Monday afternoon (both literally and figuratively) as Joel Embiid joined the show. Mike also interviewed Sixers president Daryl Morey last month and the best part about both Morey and Embiid is the fact that they dont hold back. Most of the time when you interview a coach, a GM, and especially a player you know EXACTLY what the answer is going to be before the host even asks it. But Joel Embiid was honest and forthcoming with how this season is going, and the giant distraction that ISNT there.

When asked if there was anything Embiid would have done differently in the Ben Simmons situation he told Mike.

“When I look back at what was said during the year, if that one thing was the reason why all this is happening then it’s not fair, because everybody is allowed to make mistakes especially in the heat of the moment, but I really believe that it’s really deeper than that. Obviously some people deal with pressure differently, especially from fans and stuff. To me personally, honestly I wouldn’t change anything.”

Part of Ben Simmons gripe is the fact that Daryl Morey came in and immediately started including him in trade rumors for James Harden. Simmons clearly took it the wrong way and Joel Embiid told Mike how HE would have handled the situation.

“This is a business. If a team came and offered, and I’m just making a suggestion I’m not saying this is even possible, they came and they offered Steph, Klay, and two 1st round picks, do you think the Sixers would say no to that? Of course they would say yes to that, like, this is a business. You never know what   can happen. You can get your feelings hurt… referring in general about people that usually get mad because they feel like they’re treated a certain way… Honestly, we all could be in that situation. It is terrifying, but at the end of the day it’s business.”
