Phillies

Even though there is a lock out the Phillies are spending on the international market. The team has inked 17 year old shortstop William Bergolla Jr. for $2.2 million dollars. Bergolla was ranked as the #4 best prospect on the international market which is cool. Hes said to have a good eye for the plate and good defensive but honestly, who knows. Hes 17.

While the Phillies have struggled to produce any semblance of a farm system, it isnt for lack of trying. Believe it or not they are always players on the international market. They DO spend big, they unfortunately pick the wrong players to spend it on. Hopefully that changes with Bergolla Jr.
