Jonathan Gannon might be out of Philadelphia quicker than we thought. Reports are that Gannon is on the radar of the Denver Broncos, who recently fired head coach Vic Fangio. According to Tom Pelissero, the Broncos have already requested an interview with the first-year Defensive Coordinator.

Gannon has completely turned the Eagles defense around after a start that many thought would get him fired. Through the first seven weeks of the season, the Eagles defense gave up an average of 360.7 total yards and 26.4 points per game. From weeks 8-17 (excluding the practice squad week 18 game), the Eagles defense gave up an average of 287.7 yards and 16.5 points per game. This drastic in-season turnaround opened up many eyes through the league.

Gannon is only 39, which would continue the trend of the NFL going young when it comes to head coaches. Whether he is ready to make the next step is still yet to be seen. Before becoming the Eagles Defensive Coordinator, the highest position he has held was Defensive Backs coach. Only time will tell what Jonathan Gannon’s plan is and if the Eagles will be looking for a new Defensive Coordinator in the offseason.
