Farabee was one of the few bright spots for the Flyers last season. The former 14th overall pick took a huge step in his career, posting career highs in goals (20) assists (18) and points (38). He turns 21 in February.
This has been a trend of the Flyers in recent years, to lock up core players before their cap hit reaches a high number. The Flyers did this with Sean Couturier after the 2015 season. Couturier just got off of a 37 point season at the age of 22 when the Flyers signed him to a 6 year extension that quickly became a bargain. The Flyers hope the same will be said about Farabee.
