Sixers

ATLANTA, GEORGIA - JUNE 14: Ben Simmons #25 of the Philadelphia 76ers reacts towards Joel Embiid #21 during the second half of game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals against the Atlanta Hawks at State Farm Arena on June 14, 2021 in Atlanta, Georgia.

According to a recent report by Sixers beat writer Keith Pompey, sources have told him that Ben Simmons has no intention of playing for the Sixers this upcoming season and is not planning on reporting to training camp. Obviously disgruntled by the lack of activity, Simmons met with Sixers brass last week in Los Angeles and told them he wants out.

AS IF EVERYONE DIDNT ALREADY KNOW THAT

its also worth mentioning that a team spokesperson denied the report. But you just kind of felt like this was the inevitable after the Sixers have yet to find a team willing to pay the price they seek for Simmons. But this report coming out will certainly not help the Sixers return in a possible trade. With Simmons letting the team know he wont report to camp his value will be less than it already is. And after a subpar (being kind) post season, it doesnt REALLY make sense for the Sixers to trade Simmons with his value being so low, but hes clearly trying to force their hand.

So there you have it. That thing we always worried about since the moment he was drafted has finally happened. Ben Simmons is forcing his way out of Philly.
