Ben Simmons is in a no win situation in terms of social media. Honestly, his best course of action would be to stay completely out of the public eye until he is either traded, or the season starts. Because after the playoff performance we saw, fans are frothing at the mouth to eviscerate anything he does. Whether it be hanging out at Wimbledon or enjoying his birthday, Sixers fans arent having it. And personally, I thought a lot of the outrage was dumb. But the latest social media “transgression” I cant defend because its so damn cringe worthy.

If you missed it, dont worry, because chances are youve seen it before. Ben Simmons dribble drive dunk coach shooting coach Chris Johnson headed to twitter to post something I think 99% of Sixers fans are sick and tired of seeing. Ben Simmons training in the offseason.

Ben Simmons dribbles past two guys who look like theyd struggle at a YMCA pickup game and slams it home. What makes this particular video cringe worthy is the caption Johnson added the following: How many point guards got this in the bag @BenSimmons25 Details – Making live reads playing off the screen , High crossover into a power dunk finish #jushoop

Again….READ. THE. ROOM.

I am all for Ben Simmons working in the gym, honing his craft. But just breaking this particular video down

THIS IS HIS “SHOOTING COACH”

HE IS DOCUMENTING HIM DRIVING AND DUNKING

THATS SOMETHING HE DOESNT NEED TO WORK ON!

Litterally the ONLY thing Sixers fans want to see is Ben Simmons shoot the ball consistently. Not in offseason videos, not in the preseason against the Guangzhou Loong Lions. We want it in games that count. But considering weve seen videos like the one above MANY times, were sick of it. Yet Chris Johnson decided to post it and thought “this is a good idea! People want to see this.

As you can imagine the reactions to the video werent kind.

Give it a rest Chris. No ones here for your little hype videos anymore.
