The excitement of the Sixers offseason continues! On the heels of the Furkan Korkmaz deal, the Sixers are set to waive a veteran according to the Athletic’s Sham Charania. George Hill, the teams big trade deadline acquisition, is set to be waived.

Hill had a partial guarantee (a little over $1.2 million) on the $10 million dollars he was owed in 2021. Hill came over at the deadline from the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for Tony Bradley, Terrance Ferguson, Emir Preldzic and 2 second round picks. While Hill was injured when the Sixers traded for him, Hill struggled in a Sixers uniform. In 16 games he averaged just 6 points and 2 assists in 19 minutes per game. He was the basketball version of Golden Tate, as the staff had trouble integrating Hill into the offense.
