The Flyers have, in theory, found their backup goaltender for Carter Hart. Theyve signed goaltender Martin Jones to a 1 year, $2 million dollar deal according to NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman

Jones will replace Brian Elliot who did a really nice job for the Flyers in his 2 year stay. Jones is 31 years old and, at one time, looked like one of the better goalies in hockey. But that was back in 2018. Since then Jones saw his save% dip below .900 and he eventually lost his starting job in San Jose. But he is what youre looking for when it comes to a veteran backup.
Were less than an hour into free agency opening in the NHL and already the Flyers are filling needs.
