TAMPA, FLORIDA - APRIL 01: Cam Atkinson #13 of the Columbus Blue Jackets shoots during a game against the Tampa Bay Lightning at Amalie Arena on April 01, 2021 in Tampa, Florida.

Cam Atkinson joined Jason Myrtetus after being traded to the Flyers. Here is what he had to say.

On his excitement to join the Flyers.

“Looking at the Flyers organization and everything that Chuck Fletcher is doing, the veteran guys he’s brining in, this is a time that wants to win now. I think I am going to fit in perfectly with the organization and the guys on the team. I cant wait to get going.”

On what role he could fit with the Flyers.

“Honestly, this brings me new life and new energy. I’ve trained very hard in the summer. Playing with good players always helps, and there are a lot of good players in Philly. I am going to fit in any role they want me in, especially penalty kill. It gets me excited just talking about it.”

And on his experience with Philly fans.

“I think I scored a hat trick in Philly one year. So just hearing the boos. It would always be holy crap we are going to Philly. Their fans are always there, pre-game and warmups. When they are winning and scoring goals, the crowd is the most electric in any building. Looking forward to them cheering us on, not so much the boos, but Im ready for it all.”
