NFL Insider Adam Schefter joined the John Kincade show for his weekly hit (every Wednesday at 8:10am) and the conversation quickly turned to the Eagles quarterback situation. Right now, the incumbent is sophomore quarterback Jalen Hurts, but what about another option? What about Texans quarterback DeShaun Watson?
“The Eagles are more equipped to make a run at DeShaun Watson than any other team out there,” Schefter told the morning show. “And if you put DeShaun Watson on the Philadelphia Eagles they become a Super Bowl contender right away.”
Obviously DeShaun Watson has legal troubles right now after a flurry of sexual assault allegations have come out. Adam pointed out though that this was the same organization that gave Michael Vick his first chance when he was released from prison.
“Im operating under the assumption this will be settled. And when he is deemed able to play, the Philadelphia Eagles will be waiting.”
In terms of how the Texans are viewing this, and what they might want in return Schefter the Texans have mentally moved on from Watson before all the allegations came out.
“Remember! The start of this offseason was DeShaun Watson telling the Texans he didn’t want to be there anymore. But the Texans wont sell him at 25%. THey’re going to wait to get full value.”
Watson isn’t the only veteran quarterback on the market. And Schefter also discussed the Eagles chances of possibly landing Aaron Rodgers if the Packers decide to move on from the MVP. Listen to the full interview below.
