The Philadelphia Flyers now know where they will be selecting in the upcoming NHL draft. The team will draft at pick 13 as they failed to move up in the NHL draft lottery. And by failed I really blame those stupid ping pong balls. The Flyers have never drafted 13th overall before but its been a good spot for a lot of teams recently.
The Panthers took goalie Spencer Knight with the 13th pick in 2019. The Vegas Golden Knights used the 13th pick to take Nick Suzuki in 2017. In 2014 the Capitals drafted Jakub Vrana 13th overall. And with the 13th overall pick the Winnipeg Jets took Josh Morrisey. Those are just a few.
The Sabres hold the 1st overall pick and they will make the selection when the NHL draft kicks off on July 23rd.
