ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter joined the John Kincade Show for his weekly appearance (8:10am ever Wednesday) and discussed the Eagles draft and some of the picks and national perspective on how Howie and the group did. Here was the big takeaways:

In terms of taking DeVonta Smith after trading up;

“They felt that Smith was too good and too valuable to pass up.” Schefter continued to hammer home that Smith was their guy, “I think they wanted a wide receiver all along. And I think if they stayed at 6 they would have taken one of (Waddle or Smith.)”

The Landon Dickerson pick was one that was head scratching to some Eagles fans because of the offensive linemens injury history but Schefter made a lot of Eagles fans feel better

I had one team before the draft who said ‘all I want from my team is Landon Dickerson’ And I believe Dickerson would have been taken shortly there after”

Schefter went more into the draft, the Tom Donohoe situation, his experience in Cleveland, and Eagles free agency. Listen to the full interview below.
